I had to go to the vet today (lets have an “awwwwww” in sympathy, please) to get the ph level of my wee tested as it was this time last year that I got crystals in my bladder and almost died! *cue dramatic pose*
Now, any humans reading this may think that that doesn’t sound at all traumatic. Just pee in a cup and you’re done, right?
Oh, I wish it was that simple. The vet puts a needle into my bladder and draw out the wee. If you’re squeamish you may not want to look at this picture…

If you look closely at the needle that is sticking out of me (!) you can see that there’s some of my piddle in the vial. Despite this awkward position and having a ginormous needle stuck in me, I was a good boy and didn’t complain or wriggle around (well, not much anyway). That’s because I luvs my vet, Dr Mary-Ruth Doole at the Parnell Vets, and she loves me (I’m her favourite cat patient). Sometimes, she tries to trick Mummy and tells her I need to stay behind for tests, just so she can have some special time with me.
I didn’t like the trip to the vet though and I cried all the way. But, that was because Mummy was playing Duran Duran in the car.
Even though the acidity of my wee is normal, I have to go back again in a couple of months because Mary-Ruth says I have an enlarged lymph node. But I know she just told Mummy that so she can see me again soon.

Poor poor poor baby!
Oh Misha I could barely look at the picture (I myself is very afraid of needles!) I am glad eveything went well though. Although I wouldn’t have been crying in the car about Duran Duran, I absolutely LOVE Duran Duran (maybe not as much as you
)!
Hey Guys, did Misha forget to tell you that it didn't actually hurt, & that it felt like he was just in it for the massage & whole body rub that came before & after. No pain, no tears, no squeal, no crying…nothing. No need for any of you to be scared of such a wee procedure!! He likes the sympathy, but atually it was no big deal for such a spunky boy. It is also better to have that than what he went through last year when he was very sick & I had to nurse him back to health!! Cheers Eva, (who was watching through a keyhole from the next room).xx
AHHHHHHHH! Holy Cat. Hope you are okay Misha.
We're very happy to hear that your urine acidity is normal, Misha, but that test looks AWFUL! You are really brave to let the vet do that – and you get extra bravery points for being so well-behaved!
We hope your lymph node is OK too – we'll be purring for you. (We think it's very possible that the vet just wants to see more of you, though!)
Oh that looks ouchie. We have to do that sometimes, NOT FUN. Hope all your tests come back ok.
We just wanna say that we can't believe Milo and Alfie get to use bad language like that! HAHAHAHAHAHA!
The post title is quite deceiving! There's nothing little about that needle at all! Sorry you had to go through all that…we never had that done to us…mom just let's us pee in a cup…seriously….
(pee ess. we'd cry if we heard Duran Duran too! ;-O )
EEEEKKK!! You sure are a brave kitty to put up with that!!!

Oh man, that was a picture I had to look at quickly and then stop. You are quite a brave kitty – you don't look like you were doing much fussing at all. I would have if I were you!
Duran Duran AND a needle in the stomach. Not a very good day. We hope you got extra treats when you got home.
OUCHIE! That looks very painful. Last week I had a routine exam and I had to give a potty sample, too, for the same reason. Here is a funny story:
We got some NoSorb and a clean litter box and told to get a sample and bring it back. Luckily, I had to potty real bad. My Mommie put the small amount of NoSorb in the box and I stepped onto the edge of the box and it flipped up and $15 worth of plastic pellets flew everywhere! So she gathered them all up and I tried again.
Well of course you're the favorite patient, Misha. Why wouldn't you be?!
We hope you'll be all better soon.
Misha, you are a brave kitty! I wasn't too happy when the vet did that to me a few weeks ago! Sorry you missed the box day event to go to the vet!
I hope everything continues to be okay.
What a precious brave kitty you are. We are so glad that the nasty test showed your wee to be normal. Great news
Hope your swollen node goes down. Purring for you,
love.

No. Fun. At. All! Sorry you are having to go through all that! Glad your pee was normal and hopefully the enlarged lymph node will disappear before you have to go back!
Such indignities you suffer.
Yes… we are sending over a
large vial of sympathy…
I feel for ya, buddy! They did that to me recently too. I notice they didn't steal your furs??? Now I'm suspicious of my vet..he shaved my belly!
Of course the vet just wants to see you again for the lymph node but we're purring for ya anyway, Misha
Samson
Ack! That looks like no fun, Misha. What a good sport you were, and very brave!
AAAAGGGGHHH! What an awful, horrible vet to stick a big old needle in your bladder!
And I don't blame you for crying if your mommy was playing Duran Duran in the car.
Sounds like a simply awful day all around! *sympathetic ear-lick*
I'm never going to the vet again!
Oh My Misha! I am so sorry you had to have that horrible HUGEW needle stuck into you. I wish I had been there to hold your paw! You were so very brave!
Purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrs,
TC
HOLY SH*T! We can't believe the VET stuck that BIG NEEDLE IN YOU. You deserve a medal for bravery.
We're glad you are OK but we are NEVER going to the VETS again – that's a fact.NEVER!
Milo and Alfie (scairt to bits)
Sending you purrs for being so brave.
Holy cat, Misha, you should put a warning in the post title! Not suitable for little kittens!
I am glad everything was mostly normal though.
